------- Additional comments from wi...@openoffice.org Fri Dec 4 08:40:43 +0000 2009 ------- When inserting a formula object into a presentation (Impress), even for simple formulas the editing experience is quite poor. The reason: even moving the cursor is terribly slow, not to talk about the time until the formula actually updates. This is for a 1.6GHz Laptop with 2GB RAM running Windows/XP. For comparison: 20 years ago on a 16 MHz machine with 4MB RAM the formula editor in Ventura Publisher had similar speed. Now if you consider the burst of CPU speed, compiler technology and RAM (not to talk about graphics cards and busses), this is a poor experience when using the formula editor. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
