I also had a problem in Windows 7 and Vista after uninstalling OOo 3.2 RC1 and
reinstalling OOo 3.1.1, but deleting the OpenOffice.org user profile folder
didn't help.

After reinstalling OOo 3.1.1, right-clicking on a DOC file in Explorer produced
a Runtime Error:

Program: C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenOffice.org 3\program\soffice.bin
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Deleting the OpenOffice.org user profile folder didn't help. When OOo 3.1.1 was
then uninstalled, several files were seen remaining in the OpenOffice.org
Program Files folder. If OOo 3.1.1 was reinstalled without deleting these files,
the Runtime Error would reoccur. If the files were deleted before reinstalling
OOo 3.1.1, the Runtime Error did not occur and OOo 3.1.1 would again open DOC
files.
