MRU->WG: could you please have a look with your scanner - my one at home
(Brother MFC-250C) works fine on WinXP and Win7. User sent additional info via
email, problem also occurs in Draw/Impress.

I have attempted to "insert" a "picture" from a "scan" for which I "select
Source". The click on the "select source" menu item brings the OOo 3.2 Has
Stopped Working window. Then the MicroSoft is searching for a solution window
appears.
Clicking cancel or close program buttons leads to the same termination of Open
Office. I have now tested this response for Write using both a blank and an
existing text file, with Draw, and Presentation using a template document. All
programs provide the same result. Windows 7 Printers and Devices show I have a
CanoScan LiDe 30/N124OU in working order on my system. Calc insert picture
function offers only a "from file option".
