Spreadsheet 1 contains a cell which contains a formula which does some
calculation or even something like "=d6" (no the quotes aren't in the actual
formula).

Spreadsheet 2 contains a "Link to External Data" link to the cell in
Spreadsheet 1.

When the link updates itself, it inserts the *formula* ("=d6") into the cell in
Spreadsheet 2, and not the *result* of the calculation.

This is a defect. In fact there seems to be no way to do what I can do inside a
single spreadsheet: decide whether I'm linking to the data or to the formula
itself.
