I was able to reproduce the reproduce the error by following the steps given below. 1.Open presentation in openoffice. 2.Create a 2x2 table either by using the table button on the toolbar or clicking on Insert > Table. 3.On the table toolbar which will appear when you create the table, chose the split button and it will give you options on the way you want to split. Make sure the cursor is on the first row, first column of the table. 4.Split the column horizontally. 5.Then click on the column next to it. The cursor position is first row, second column. 6.Again using the table toolbar press the split button and split vertically. 7.You will see the second sub-column is split horizontally automatically.
