------- Additional comments from [email protected] Thu Jan 21 11:02:49 +0000 2010 ------- I have removed all traces of my previous open office installation as it was not attaching file-types to itself and vista would not let me set it as the default program, so I decided to re-install. When I attempted to re-install from a brand new downloaded installer, it told me I could not do this as Open office or the quickstarter was open, I searched for any documents open, I used the task manager to ensure it was not running, no change. I redownloaded form a different mirror, nothing. I used CCleaner (the latest version as of 21/1/10) to uninstall the program and tried again, no dice. I redownloaded AGAIN, no change. I manually went over both my hard drives and removed all trace of open office, Nothing, redownloaded again, nothing. At this point I was kind of annoyed, I went into the registry and obliterated all (safe to remove) traces of the program (not stupid enough to touch anything I didn't double check was good to go, and I backed up registry) this again did not help, Redownload, no help. At this point I wiped my clear space, did an AVG, CCleaner, Spybot, O&O Defrag session so make sure nothing could be shaken loose.
