------- Additional comments from buttwal...@openoffice.org Fri Jan 22 01:08:15
+0000 2010 -------
OS: LINUX/GNU
Version: 2.6.9
Desktop Interface: XCFE 4.2.1
OpenOffice: 3.1.1 (OOO310m19).

I was able to reproduce the bug with more then one character by doing the
following steps.
1. Open a new text document in OpenOffice.
2. Write down the words “ Testing Formatting “ (without quotes) on the first
line.
3. Press enter and go to the next line
4. Write “ Second Line “ (without quotes).
5. Now go to the first line and highlight all the text and make it bold, either
by pressing ctrl+b or clicking bold icon on the toolbar.
6. Go to the end of the second line and press backspace till you have entirely
deleted the second line and you are at the end of the first line. Remember not
to delete anything on the first line.
7. Now we are in state where there is no second line, the first line is bold and
the cursor is at the end of the first line. Save the document with any name
(e.g. format_test.odt).
8. Close the document and re-open it, you will the bold formatting done on the
first line is gone.

The bug occurs again if we do the steps again on the same file and save it but
if we follow the steps above and have some text not bold after the bold text in
the first line and then save the file and re-open it, the bold format appears as
the way it is with the unbolded text after it.
