------- Additional comments from algol...@openoffice.org Fri Feb 12 13:35:31 +0000 2010 ------- Hi, there is a severe bug in the Windows-Installer program of current release OOo3.2 which now persists for almost 2 years! A similar bug has been reported before and wrongfully categorized as solved / only a 3.0 beta issue. The msi-Installer in custom-mode offers "Program Files" as installation directory which can be changed to one's liking. So far, so good. But then the actual installation goes to X:\CustomDir\"OpenOffice.org 3" which most unfortunately cannot be changed . On our network I cannot and will not tolerate directory-names containing spaces - and even worse: dots (which denote a file extension). Please do not bother to inform me, that dots and spaces meanwhile can be used in file- or directory-names. It suffices to say, on our network they cannot be used for several compatibility reasons. So this forced installation directory in our case is an absolute deal-breaker! Either it can be changed - like in OO2.2 - or OpenOffice is useless for us and will stay useless for the future. I have since de-installed it from our systems, but many colleagues miss it. And I know for sure that I am not the only one with this problem, which could have been so easily fixed in the meantime. greetings algol111 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
