A feature of Excel that I use frequently is being able to cut a row(s) or
column(s) and then paste it(them) to another location.  I have not been able to
find an equivalent operation in Calc except to Cut the row, Insert blank line
where it needs to go, Paste the row, Delete the original (now blank) line.

Today I discovered Paste Special... but it does appear to work right.  Setup a
simple spreadsheet with several rows and columns filled:
1) Select a row by right-clicking the row number, then select Cut (the row 
blanks)
2) Select a row above this by right-clicking the row number, then select Paste
Special...
3) The is a Shift Cells selection,
