At the bottom of the styles dialog, there is a dropdown box for the style
categories for which these styles have been created by the user.
That the styles won't update in the document can only have two reasons:
- the paragraphs are formatted with hard or direct formats above the style
formattings
- the styles have not been used in the document.
Please verify this and if you still think here is a bug in OOo Writer, please
attach a sample document where the problem can be reproduced.
