Consider a situation when a complex shape is imported into a drawing. Shape contains some thousand points. There is no tool for the point reduction automatically. Such tool must have its own dialogue. The user must be able to chose the line/polygon generalization method (angle, distance or both) and threshold values. These values must be independent from angle value for the point elimination tool.
