Even better from a usability standpoint would be for the wizard to present the
query in the selection but to refuse this setting with a message saying "This
selection is unsupported for the current data source". That way users won't be
confused why they sometimes (for MySQL etc. databases) have queries in this
dialog and sometimes don't. In any case, this is a defect of the wizard. A
wizard must not allow the selection of non-working choices and the creation of
broken queries. That defeats the whole point of having a "wizard", which is to
make things accessibly by non-technical users.
