Background OpenOffice Writer is used widely for countless academic purposes. In all known academic writing conventions footnotes are not included in any word limit. Proposal OOW should be fixed so that it does not include footnotes in the word count. Details Footnotes should be designated as excluded fields for word count purposes. Footnote super-script numbering within the main body of the text, should also be excluded.
