The multi-touch zoom is still fast, but it's not bat-out-of-hell fast anymore (the "exponential acceleration" noted by someone seems gone). Still IMHO much too easily triggered, and still too fast once it is - but at least for me it's now in the "barely controllable if I'm careful" range. Still would prefer a dialogue to disable this functionality and/or set the zoom speed.
