I guess the use of the feature is a matter of opinion; what I would say, is if
cell protection were there to prevent modification, why bother hiding it? Would
if not make more sense to to have the contents visible, more like a read only
(as opposed to a password protected) document? On the other hand, if I wanted to
just hide the cell, I personally would just use the hide row or column feature.

As for the other issue, I must admit I failed to find either issue in any
previous report, but I figured it was a related/interdependent/overlapping
problem; sorry if not.
