------- Additional comments from mattde...@openoffice.org Sun Mar 14 20:11:20
+0000 2010 -------
I will attach a set of test data as I work this one out.
I have been using the Text2Pic extension, which is used to insert pictures into
the mail merge through a mail merged containing the image URL.
I will attach the system information I have this evening with further comments.
However, I have un-installed 3.2, and replaced it with 3.1.1 several times, and
have found consistently that I cannot successfully mail merge in 3.2.
The steps I take in creating the mail merge are as follows.
I create a Calc spreadsheet, with the first row as data field titles, and
further rows as the records.
I generate a Base data base and link it to the Calc spreadsheet, and check that
the table database from the spreadsheet has imported.
I then open the formatted .odt document, press f4, to open data sources, and
drag in the data field placeholders into the document. I then print the file
with Cntrl+P, and when OOo recognises that it is a mail merge, I accept dialogue
offer of a mail merge print.
I then print from a limited set of records, printing to file and as individual
documents, usually to the desktop.
I then find grey single spaces in place of the data field place holders if I am
using 3.2, but find the data in the correct places in 3.1.1.

I have found this with Vista Business and XP Professional on two separate
computers.
