This issue is about the fact that hidden data series in a chart loose their attributation when they are re-shown. This will be fixed. As you can see by the target, it will NOT be done for OOo 2.0. If there is an issue concerning missing chart updates when some referenced cells are hidden, please write a separate issue for this. If you really need to hide data columns that shall not reduce the chart, you can put the data for the chart on a separate sheet that you may hide, and show references to the original sheet on a visible one. If you hide columns in the visible sheet this would not affect the chart.
