Quoting issue 106985: "Issue 70840 introduced the -Wl,-z,noexecstack hack,
necessary because the Hamburg-internal unxlngi6 tool-chain includes an old libc
that, for lack of explicit flagging, implicitly requires execstack and thus
causes all objects linked against it to be flagged as requiring execstack.
[Issue 106985] now shows that the fix for issue 70840 was not enough, as it
misses (a) external modules to which the -Wl,-z,noexecstack hack from
solenv/inc/unxlng.mk is not passed, and (b) Hamburg-internal pre-built
so_prereq/baseline/unxlngi6/{libgcc_s.so.1,libstdc++.so.6}.
"Issue 109357 will update the unxlngi6 baseline, hopefully (vg?!?) in a way that
removes the root causes of issue 70840 and this issue (i.e., provides
Hamburg-internally a libc and pre-built {libgcc_s.so.1,libstdc++.so.6} that are
correctly flagged as not requiring execstack) and makes the -Wl,-z,noexecstack
hack unnecessary."
So, once issue 109357 is fixed (in the right way), the -Wl,-z,noexecstack hack
can be removed again from solenv/inc/unxlng.mk.
