I was not using OOo for the first time but probably among the first times. This issue was simply unexpected and occurred only once. I could not repeat this error ever since this time. For your information: I had Java (JDK 5.0 Update 1) installed. Upgrading to Update 2 and using later versions of OOo 1.9, I did not experience the same issue. Hope the above helps.
