I don't have a complete understanding of this font issue but there is some
observations which I made and I wonder if they may be relevant for a better font
level compatibility between Calc and other products and in Calc between various
OS.

1) When I use Windings 2 font in Calc in Windows Vista I can see that starting
code F000 there is complete series of font figures which are identical that of
Excel (starting 00) at least from code 1F onwards. For example those six
a'clock figures with changing minutes are all there but not in normal use
(between codes 00...FF). I don't know if white boxes have here some special
meaning?
Unfortunately what I see in Ubuntu in same situation is merely small black boxes
and even worse.

2) In Windows with Windings 2 font in Calc series of circulated number figures
start from F069 with zero. In linux I see that from F069 start circulated
numebers with one. So there is a curious offset.

3) Circulated zero can find with code 24EA in quite many fonts both in Windows
and in Ubuntu. And that is figure what was missing from series of circulated
numbers in Ubuntu with Windings 2 font.

4) To me this font issue look like bigger mess than one bug. I don't believe
that best result is achieved by putting a small patch* on other small patches.
But if there is no one who make bigger repair these small patches are better
than nothing. Yet I may be wrong.

*) Example of useless small patch would be changing only entry in 6F of
fontcvt.cxx from 0xe54e to 0xe54d. Now we don't have anymore 7 and 7 but 6 and
6.

I hope this is more a help than a hinderance.

Regards
Risto
