Documenting evolving technologies is already difficult when trying to make sure the language and structure of the presentation accurately conveys the realities of the technology. The only way this can be efficient of time in a word processor - or even possible - is be able to collapse individual outline headings and move them to different parts of the document - including moving blocks of heading and text to different heading levels. The absence of this feature in OpenOffice means I have to use MS Word.
