This is probably very specific: I am using Debian sid with kde 4.4.3 and
composition on Nvidia hardware in a Dell laptop.

The zoom slider in calc often disappears. It can be made to reappear by guessing
where it is an clicking, which works but gives a wild zoom level depending on
where exactly you click. 

I can reproduce this bug by
1. start calc (getting a blank work sheet). The zoom slider is visible
2. Minimise the window, and maximise it.
the zoom slider is not visible. Click on it to make it re-appear, and then
repeat step 2 to again make it disappear.
