Confirmed in OOo 1.9.94 on Win XP.

I opened a random .sxw file in 1.9.94 and then did a Save As.. and names it
something else. The file saved (that is to say it made r.sxw) and like while it
was saving, OOo crashed. The document was not recovered and r.sxw was an empty
file that would open in OOo 1.1.4 but was, as I said, empty.

Changing OS to All.
