What I am saying is that there is more than one accepted grammatical usage for the en/em dash in several cases where AutoCorrect only caters to one. Usage for punctuation is usually pretty straight-forward as in cases like the comma, the period, the semi-colon, etc. The dashes, however, are not as standardized and are used differently by different english grammar standardisations, editors, publishers, etc. I am also saying that the current way to insert these psuedo-common characters as they are used in regular practices, is most definitely NOT user-friendly. I hope that my observation of the issue has been made more clear.
