------- Additional comments from minnm...@openoffice.org Mon May 3 16:09:00 +0000 2010 ------- @es: I created a database (.odb) which used the spreadsheet as its data source, and used that database as the source of the merge. >From the start center... click on New Database, select "Connect to an existing database", and choose "Spreadsheet" from the pull-down list. Click Next, then browse to the spreadsheet to use. Select said spreadsheet (in this case, Addresses-sanatized.ods), and click "next" again. Leave the final screen defaults in place (ie. Yes, register the database, and open the database for editing). Click "Finish", then select a place to save the new database (here, Addresses-sanatized.odb). I then checked to see that the database had the right data (it does). Then, file->new->labels, and set up the labels however you want (layout, page size and format; changes here didn't seem to make a difference). Click "New Document". Then, print the document (print preview will work). (file->print, "yes" you want to do a mail merge, select any fields from the database you want to print). I did a quick label with just '<Program>' as the whole label. Page one of the print job includes three correct labels (they say 'Program 1', which is correct), then the remainder of page one is filled with labels that display, literally, the print format (ie. they all say '<Program>').
