------- Additional comments from handheld...@openoffice.org Sun May 9 23:30:46 +0000 2010 ------- I just tested this in Windows 7, and it doesn't happen. In Ubuntu 9.10 and 10.04 with the default GNOME Desktop Environment and Compiz, the little list and table windows will block focus from returning to the insertion bar in the text of the Writer app. To reproduce this "bug" or inconvenience, open Writer and another application. Start a list or a table, so at least one of their windows pops up. Switch to the other application using the mouse or the keyboard and switch back to OOo Writer. Although both Writer and the little formatting window will be on top, the little window will prevent the focus from returning to Writer. You won't be able to start typing in writer, but you WILL be able to type in the application you just left if it's possible to type in that window and if you left the insertion bar blinking in a text box or whatnot. This is not a terminal error, but it takes an extra click which frankly upsets me after a while and slows me down a little. Also, if I switch back to Writer just to proofread and try to switch back to the other application with the mouse, it will minimize because the little list/table window actually prevented me from leaving it. It doesn't matter if I disable Compiz, the focus will not switch from the last application unless the list/table windows are docked to one of the toolbars. A workaround I found is docking the formatting windows to a toolbar, but if someone can figure out how to leave them floating without this focus issue, I'd appreciate that. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
