Im having problems with the paper size handling of open office. my printer (HP
M1319f) only prints to letter size even if in open office its in another size
(Long bond 8.5 x 13 inches).

I was able to trace that the problem was with open office since I saved the
document to xls format and opened it with excel and it printed fine. I then
tried to open the same xls format in open office to see if it will now print
fine. it still didn't, it only printed to letter size. Also, I noticed that
when
I opened the file in excel the paper size was adjusted to letter (8.5 x 11
inches) instead of 8.5 x 13 inches. I had to change the paper size in excel
before printing it again. saved the document, opened it in open office (it
reported the size to be 8.5 x 13) but upon printing, it only printed to letter
size.

This is actually not the first time I encountered this problem. I also
encountered the same problem on another computer which was also using open
office 3.2. same problem, it would only print to letter size. however, in that
case, I was able to employ a quick fix by simply using a custom size since open
office detects 8.5 x 13 as long bond and I'm guessing the printer didn't
recognize Long bond so it printed to letter. what I did in that instance was to
resize the paper to 8.5 x 13.1 inches and adjusted the margins by adding .1
either on the top or bottom. That solved the problem.

however, the same fix didn't work on this computer. it still printed to letter
size. for now, I have removed open office 3.2 on this computer and will try to
install open office 3.1 since everything was working ok on 3.1

here are screenshots. first one is from excel the second one the same document
printed from open office calc
