At best, this could be described as a misleading error message, but ultimately
the problem is an "unhelpful feature".

Earlier today, I was printing successfully from Impress on my Samsung CLX-3175.

There was a small issue which I phoned Samsung and they suggested upgrading my
printer driver, so I did. I didn't realise the problem this would cause with
Open Office if I did this with Impress open (even though I was not printing
with
it at the time).

After installation of the new driver, I was unable to print on this printer
from
within Impress (file type .odp). When using the File > Print option, I would
get an error message saying "No default printer found". Clicking OK on this
error message took me to the printer selection screen, with default printer
selected but both the "OK" and "Properties..." buttons were greyed out.

Fortunately, I tried a work-around based on problem 4878 (which describes a
similar issue going back to version 1.0.0). Unfortunately, this took a long
time for me to find and was quite frustrating.  The workaround was as follows;

1 - Pause printing on a second printer on the PC
2 - Get Impress to print the document to that printer
3 - Once finished, delete the spooled job from the second printer
4 - Manually select the default printer to print to
5 - Now printing is available

Please email me if you need any more information (but also check issue 4878, as
it describes the problem well - my issue simply describes how to create the
problem in the first place).
