Other than the crash the main problem seems to be that the "symbol flag" is not 
set for this font inside 
OOo. Else both features "symbol-aliasing" and "symbol-font preview mode" would 
be active.

Since both features are desirable for this font and it also has a CMAP==3.0 
table it should definitely be 
flagged as symbol font. Pre-Fontconfig OOo did it properly, the question now 
is, why does either 
fontconfig its integration into OOo set the flag?
