In "dummies.ods" a print range '$A$1:$AMI$65536' (most rows empty) has been
selected and will be printed or exported to PDF, empty pages will be printed and
exported also if "Suppress empty pages" has been selected in printer dialog.
Suppression worked fine in a self created document without print range, where I
only inserted some letters every 80 rows. Only pages with a not empty cell in it
have been printed. IMHO the question is whether "Suppress empty pages" also
should work within selected print ranges. I can't see any hint concerning this
in HELP or OOo wiki, pls. see
<http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/OOo3_User_Guides/Getting_Started/Printing_from_Calc>

But:
>From "dummies.ods" the export (or print) will only contain the first 5 pages,
>if
the suppression will have been selected in 'Tools -> Options -> Calc -> Print'

To check the difference:

0. open sample file
1. Menu File -> Printer Settings -> Options' check "Suppress output of
   empty pages"  <ok>   <ok>
2. Press 'Print Preview' button and press 'Next Page' button 10 times
   You will reach page 500 if you do often enough
3. 'Close preview'

10. Menu File -> Printer Settings -> Options' UNcheck "Suppress output of
    empty pages"  <ok>   <ok>
11. Menu 'Tools -> Options -> Calc -> Print' check "Suppress output of
    empty pages"  <ok>
12. Press 'Print Preview' button and press 'Next Page' button 10 times
    expected: same behaviour as in Step 2?
    actual: Last page 5, further empty pages will be suppressed.

This unexpected difference is reproducible with "Ooo 3.1.1 WIN XP DE[OOO310m19
(Build 9420)]", "Ooo-Dev 3.3 multilingual version English UI WIN XP: [DEV300m82
(Build 9510)]"
1.1.4 and "2.4.1 Multilingual version English UI WIN XP: [680m17(Build9310)]"
do not have that 'Options' dialog in 'Printer settings', suppression only can be
selected in 'Tools -> Options'.

I did not check for similar effects in CALC, DRAW

@jens611:
May be some day you will find the time to find out what OS you use?
