This type of problem is usually tied to a very specific combination of graphics hardware and driver and does not affect (to my knowledge) may users. @hardy314: Without direct access to this type of notebook there is very little that I can do. It would help to know more about the graphics hardware and driver. A stack trace (report mail) would also help.
