------- Additional comments from silvermin...@openoffice.org Thu Jun 24 03:01:03 +0000 2010 ------- There is obviously some discrepancies between OpenOffice English and Traditional Chinese versions, in terms of hardocpy layout: pdf or printed output. The attached explains the situation, and all is created on OpenOffice 3.2.0 (English and Traditional Chinese); not sure if the said is originating from this particular version of OpenOffice or is happening for long. (1) Sample.ods a simple spreadsheet with two graphs (2) Sample – v3.2.0 English.pdf pdf file generated from OpenOffice 3.2.0 English version (3) Sample – v3.2.0 Traditional Chinese.pdf pdf file generated from OpenOffice 3.2.0 Traditional Chinese version There is a vertical misalignment of the second graph on (3), where it overlapped with the row right above. If more graphs are appended, they will successively move higher and higher, ie. the said overlapping will aggregate and causing more negative displacement. Simply what you see on the screen is not what you get on the hardcopy. Additional comments: (A) Not even (1) and (2) match, and this is happening to both OpenOffice 3.2.0 English and Traditional Chinese version. In the softcopy, the first graph is actually slightly separated from the row right above, but in the pdf they are adjacent touching each other, as seen by the naked eye. (B) In general graphic objects appear to move even in the softcopy, and only in the vertical direction, ie. affecting the y-position only. For example, an image placed at y=0.00cm and anchored to the page (not the cell) will change to, say, y=0.03cm after the file is used a number of times, ie. opening, editing, saving, opening, editing, saving, .., and even with the with the protect position option checked.
