I am using open office version 3.2 with Windows XP pro and all SP's. I am
using IE6 and will not be upgrading to IE7 or IE8. I don't know why my version
isnlt listed above, and I don't know what "subcomponent" is.

I checked the bug reports and saw a report that the spreadsheet crashes when
IE6 is used simultaneously. I can also report that the text editor also
results in IE6 crashing when an attempt is made to browse certain webpages
with a text document open for editing. (and I also confirm that this happens
with a spreadsheet open) The browser hangs, and so does the whole machine as
it it is fully taken up by dumprep.exe using up all system resources. The only
way to unlock it without switching off power is to do cntrl-alt-del and then
terminate dumpprep.exe.

Some suggestions: I have a suspicion that it may be something to do with the
automatic saving, on a timer basis, of document status during editing. At
least I have seen the crash occur coincident with that action a few times.

Another suspicion is that it may not be aLL web pages that cause the crash. It
may depend on their use of JAVA. The JAVA I have installed is SE v1.4.2_01
with JAVA 6 upfate 20.
