However, if by error the wrong choice is made (eg. the default page number is chosen when the caption number was intended), there is no way to change the display attribute. The work-around is to delete the cross-reference and then to reinsert a new one. I would suggest that when a cross-reference field is right (double) clicked, the original insertion dialog is redisplayed with the existing attributes as the defaults.
