------- Additional comments from mario...@openoffice.org Fri Sep 3 12:57:30 +0000 2010 ------- The doc-files, produced by recent versions of OpenOffice are problematic, when used with Adobe Indesign (CS4 and CS5). Italic text is not imported properly. To reproduce this problem, simply type some text in an OOo document, make it italic (I my case, I used Utopia Regular. But it also goes wrong with regular fonts, like Arial) and save it as a doc-file (Word 97/2000/xp). Now, open Adobe Indesign and create a new file. Click on File -> Place (or, command-E) and open the file you just created, to import it. The italic text will be imported as regular text, not italic. *) When a document is saved as docx, the italic text will be imported properly. The problem seems to only exist when the file is saved in doc-format. *) When a doc-file is produced with an older version of OpenOffice (OOo-2.4.1 on Ubuntu 8.10) it works fine. So, it seems that this problem was introduced in the recent versions of OpenOffice. We noticed this problem since we upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 and OOo-3.1.1 (OOO310m19) *) This problem also occurs with doc-files, produced with the windows version of OpenOffice (OOO320m18). So, it's not just Ubuntu. I reported this problem before, but it was closed. I think that was not justified: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=113954 Here is a forumthread, about this problem: http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=29983&p=154986 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
