For changing the slide transition you need to have the task pane on the right
visible. Just select the slide in the slide pane on the left and then you will
see the used effect in the list on the right side in the slide pane.
Your screenshot shows that the slidepane and the taskpane are not visible and
the gallery is switched on. This is not the default setting. Is this an original
OOo version you are using or from some other source?
