(It takes anywhere between 20 and 60 seconds on my PC, which is not that old.) I understand that this is most likely related to the number of fonts I have installed. However, this happens every time the dialog is opened - not just the first time. I have checked this in Writer, Calc and Impress and all seem to exhibit the same behaviour. Steps to reproduce: 1. Select a piece of text or a cell (in Calc) 2. In the menu, select Format -> Character/Cell => The application freezes for several seconds until the dialog appears. Switching to the Font Effects tab also incurs a long wait (although not quite as long). You may need to select the Font or Font Effects tab if one of them is not initially selected to see the issue. If you have more than one window open - even say one each of Writer, Calc and Impress, all of them are frozen while the dialog appears.
