------- Additional comments from rang...@openoffice.org Fri Sep 10 11:55:19 +0000 2010 ------- Hello, I use OpenOffice 3.2 and Ubuntu 10.04. Before, with OpenOffice 2.4 and Ubuntu 8.04 the phonetics font Ipa-samd Uclphon1 SILDoulosL (downloadable free here: http://www.phon.ucl.ac.uk/shop/fonts.php) worked perfectly. Now it doesn't. The font appears in the list of possible fonts and is in the right place, /usr/share/fonts but doesn't display properly: a replacement font is used. When I choose Insert / Special characters, I get the desired result however. I think it's an OpenOffice problem, as Gedit and Abiword for example display the font fine. I've tried uninstalling the ubuntu provided by OOO with its config files and then installing the Vanilla version from the OOO website, but with no success. I suspect the issue does not only concern the IPA font, since many other fonts appear to default to Arial or something similar. I teach phonetics and this effectively renders a good many of my files unusuable, at least in OOO, which is what I created them with! --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
