Personally I would vote for a different icon as I would find it VERY confusing if the same icon promoted or demoted an entry depending if it were ltr or rtf. The arrows are good in that they are similar to the up down, but if they change their meaning depending upon direction it would confuse me. A new set of icons which promote ALWAYS and demote ALWAYS would be better in my opinion.
