It is NOT a dupe, though it is related. This bug does not say clearing the buffer is a defect (the essence of) #64125 This bug's key issue is that the paste action does not move the text cursor the point at which the insertion occurs. It fails to affect the text cursor. One _secondary_ effect of this bug is because the buffer is cleared as described in #64125 , clicking the mouse to bring the text cursor to the current edit position (to work around this bug) also clears the buffer making a second paste impossible. If #64125 were fixed (and it's already 4 years old) it would mitigate one side effect of this bug. It would not solve it .
