To reproduce:

1. Create new file with Writer, and save it in .odt
2. Select Save As,
3. Select *.doc file format (You can see now what proposed filename for save now
with .odt extension)
4. Press "save" button, - Dialog "Overwrite file" appears, because .odt file is
present.
5. If You delete ".odt" after filename (assuming what OOo will add right .doc to
file) you will get file on disk without any extension in DOC format

Same error on exporting to pdf.  Pdf format file without extension.

I think, OOo will add right extension to file, according to selected format for
saving.
