------- Additional comments from gbtm...@openoffice.org Thu Oct 7 02:23:39 +0000 2010 ------- When the text function "T" is used to draw a text box, and the mouse is released, it leaves a text box with the grey slash/hash marks around the box. Well if you do NOT immediately type something in the box, but instead click outside the box, the text box disappears. Compare this with the other drawing tool options, like the square, oval, rectangle, symbols, and all of them behave normally when the mouse is released after drawing--that is to say the box or drawing remains on-screen. In every Windows apps I've ever drawn a text box in, if you release the mouse after drawing the box, it generates a text box with the resize handles in place--so you can move or resize the box prior to entering or pasting text into it. The fact that OOo does not allow for this standard behavior (and it did in some previous versions because I have some training materials that clearly show the text box highlighted with resizing handles after releasing the mouse when the text box is drawn), not only is this annoying but it's the wrong behavior. Even in Photoshop, when a text box is drawn and you click off of it and the box disappears, it's not lost, you simply click in the area where you drew the box and it returns, ready for you to enter text. I know for a fact v.3.2.1 does not provide the default behavior and this beta version 3.3x does not either. Check that, correct that, OK. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
