Open any graphics document in Apple's Preview application, such as a JPEG, TIFF,
or PNG document. Select all or a portion of the document and copy the selection
to the clipboard. Then, open an OpenOffice Writer, Calc or Drawing document and
attempt to paste the selection into that document. OpenOffice sees nothing on
the clipboard to paste. In earlier versions of OO and in the current version of
Mac NeoOffice (based on an earlier build of OO), you can correctly paste the
selection as bit-mapped graphics; however, the current version of OO, there is
nothing to paste.

On the other hand, while still in Apple's Preview, a new Preview document can be
created with the clipboard contents and then saved as a new JPEG, TIFF or PNG
file. Then, that file can be dragged and dropped into an OpenOffice Writer,
Calc or Drawing document and the graphics object appears correctly as bit-mapped
graphics.

The fact that the pasting of graphics works correctly in NeoOffice seems to
imply that something was changed in the most recent OO versions.
