------- Additional comments from brucewilliams2...@openoffice.org Thu Nov 4 02:01:25 +0000 2010 ------- 2 problems exist with the indicated OOO. 1st - This version does not acknowledge its own JRE. 2nd - I cannot open a database table once Java is disabled (you have do that to even get to a database) because you get the following: No SDBC Driver was found for the given URL Information A connection for the following URL was requested: sdbc:embedded:hsqldb What I have done - Uninstalled JAVA Uninstalled OOO Edited the registry to delete all OOO keys/data Deleted all OOO directories on my entire disk Re-installed OOO Removed any and all JAVA programs/directories from my machine, including the latest version. Disabled JAVA in OOO using: Tools - Options - OpenOffice.org -Java - Use a Java runtime environment unchecked ------------------------------------------------------------ Under: Tools - Options - OpenOffice.org Base - Connections Connection pooling enabled is checked Drivers Known in OpenOffice.org "*** there is no sdbc:embedded:hsqldb****" "there is a" com.sun.star.sdbcx.comp.hsqldb.Driver Yes 120 Enable pooling for this driver is checked as well as all others ------------------------------------------------------------- Please note there is an sdbcx but no sdbc! Still the same problem Did a repair of OOO Still the same problem http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/DevGuide/Database/The_SDBC_Driver_for_embedded_HSQL_databases States: This driver allows to connect to a database document which contains an embedded HSQL database. Since HSQLDB is a Java database, it requires a Java Runtime Environment to operate. So, it appears you cannot use the JRE because OOO thinks its corrupt (and it installed it), so if you disable it you can create the database, you just can't do anything with the tables because it doesn't recognize its own JRE? Any ideas? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
