The dialogue 'JRE is Defective' simply steers the user
(on Mac OS X, wrongly; that's issue 115439).

By keying
command-,
for Preferences…, the Options dialogue appears.

= Suggestion for improvement =

Instead of an 'OK' button in the 'JRE is Defective' dialogue
(being defective is *not* OK ;)
there could be a button that opens the Preferences… (Options) dialogue. Ideally
with the Java pane
selected.
