------- Additional comments from thomas...@openoffice.org Sat Nov 6 23:22:24 +0000 2010 ------- Calc already has Scientific Numbering. What is lacking is a way to constrain the exponents to multiples of 3, (e.g., 9, 6, 3, 0, -3, -6, -9, ... etc). I agree that the Alpha version can wait on the appearance of the Engineering Notation for multiples of 3. This constraint to multiples of 3 is not currently possible except accidentally when it just occurs due to the integer being limited to one digit. Currently there is NO WAY to constrain the exponents to multiples of 3 consistently!!! The Python code has two parts, the first of which is used alter the display values of the exponents, while the second displays the results. This is strictly to show how the code works. Anyone who wants just the code version let me know.
