------- Additional comments from stasi...@openoffice.org Tue Dec 14 21:05:19 +0000 2010 ------- Looks like OpenOffice.org cals doesn't free memory after loading another spreadsheet to update links. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create two empty spreadsheets. 2. Make links from cells of one spreadsheet to cells of another (like "='file:///home/stasikos/tmp/OOLeak/Table2.ods'#$Sheet1.A7"). 3. Save and close both spreadsheets. 4. Start oocalc again. Open top utility and sort processes by resident size. 5. Open spreadsheet with links from. OOCalc will ask to update links. 6. Go to edit->links and press "update" multiple times. After ~50 clicks you can notice RSS size increased by ~150 mb. Things may be even worse if another spreadsheet is big and complex and consumes more memory. For example, linking ~5 mb complex spreadsheet doc to another table and updating links 1-2 times in a hour leads to 2.5 GB memory resident size for oocalc in about 12 hours of non-intensive work.
