When I attempt to open an existing document, writer crashes with a long, arcane
listing of information. The title of this report says "paste this into a bug
report." I did that, and got a response "[Issue 116807] openoffice writer crash
when opening .doc file" with the content below. It says I am using too old a
version, but I actually am using the latest version, 3.3+ (I tried to solve the
problem by updating, which didn't work -- nothing to do -- and then by removing
and reinstalling.) So, I hope you will not declare this issue resolved. It is
real. I did not find anything helpful by searching, and I am willing to do
whatever you say will help to specify and identify the problem. Thank you.

You are using a too old version (3.1.1) and didn't attach a sample file.
Make sure you are using a current (3.3) and native (from our site) version.
If this still happens there, file a new issue without the crash info but with a
sample document so that we can reproduce it.
