I was thinking that this was an issue with maintaining the position of the footer from .ppt to .odp. On further testing I was able to get similar results to Simon's. I adjusted the font size of the footer to Arial 8 in the Powerpoint Master Slide view. 1. Saved the file as a .ppt. 2. Opened the file in Impress. 3. Noted that it opened as Read Only and the footer font was displayed at the default Impress font size (18pt). 4. I tried to change the footer font size in the read only version but the options were disabled. 5. I saved the file as an ODF Presentation (.odp) 6.
