/etc/openoffice.org-1.9 _is_ a symbolic link. You just need to make sure to
remove the trailing blank, otherwise the symbolic link is resolved by the "ls"
command:
ls -lid /opt/openoffice.org1.9.95 /etc/openoffice.org-1.9
